Intermech Sealing Solutions (Pty) Ltd - Rubber Bellows
Bodies are internally reinforced with synthetic material cloth and metal rings to assure a high mechanical resistance while operating at a positive internal pressure or vacuum.
Intermech Rubber Expansion Joints are supplied from ND 1.1/4" (32mm) up to ND 80" (200mm), being recommended to operate up to 225 PSIG (16 Kgf/cm) and 250 °F (120°C), according to the specific model. For different models and other diameters, pressure and/or temperatures, please contact us.
Features
- Compensation for displacements with small installation lengths and low spring forces.
- Corrosion resistant.
- High absorption of mechanical and sonorous vibration.
- Low weight.
- Exempt of sealing joints.

Applications
- Air-condition systems.
- Pumps, air compressors, blowers, etc.
- Industrial piping systems.
- Marine piping systems.
- Sanitary systems.
- Any piping system where it is necessary to compensate thermal displacements.
Pressure / Temperature
The allowable operating pressure (P) shown on dimensional table, correspond to temperatures up to 250°F (120°C). Find below the vibration of pressure resistance according to the operating temperature, the test pressures and the minimum burst pressures of the Intermech Rubber Expansion Joints.
| OPERATING TEMPERATURE | PRESSURE RESISTANCE |
| Up to 250°F (120°C) | 100% P |
| Hydrostatic Test Pressure (Max) at 70°F (20°C) | 1.5 x P |
| Burst Pressure (Min.) at 70°F (20°C) | 3.0 x P |
Rubber Identification
The different rubbers employed in the manufacturing of Intermech expansion joints, are identified with circular coloured labels placed at external surfaces of bodies, as follows:
| RUBBER | IDENTIFICATION | |
| Internal | External | |
| Chloroprene | Chloroprene | Black |
| EPDM | EPDM | Red |
| Nitrile (BunaN) | Chloroprene | Yellow |
| Hypalon | Chloroprene | Green |
| Natural | Chloroprene | Grey |
